Good points made in here and got me thinking that the older I get, unconsciously the higher my bar for "the one" becomes. You're right in that it was an idea planted in me by...probably various media outlets...that in college I was going to find "the one."

I'm fine not have a single person but there are some days where I wish I could turn to the same person and just ask if what I'm doing is right or not, because often times, so much of what I've doing, I've never done before and so I don't know if it's right or wrong, but people often look to me as if I've done it many times before.

Happy to be a part of your journey and share my world as much as possible with you.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I think that being a tourist in any given situation makes you stand out and at times, unable to fully recognize the true potential of the place you are visiting. I have traveled a lot in my time and every time I go somewhere new, I always do my best to blend in, meet the locals, go to the local hang outs, instead of riding a bus to hear the history or doing a group tour. It takes away from the essence of 'travel'.

Great start Andrew,

The idea of people not wanting to contribute to a country does not seem that surprising to me...as 'country' usually means goverment and the idea that contributing resources to a person rather that having those resources trickle down through a system seems more natural.

Yet...the idea of making your sales call stick...priceless!

[...] Then came Drive. It was an amazing book that basically explained to me why I didn’t like reading most of the books I had read prior. My kind of book is one that talks to me directly. There is no main character, no magic, or anything like that. It’s a piece of writing that changes the way I think. That was drive in a nutshell. It had to do with a new type of motivation that many had not considered a sort of “intrinsic motivation”, the kind of motivation that had caused me to read the paper every morning instead of my English book for the past four years. And I fell in love with it. I had two long flights the next two days, so I read that 300 page book cover to cover in 48 hours, a feat I had never completed before. [...]
